Laherte & Frères is a family-owned Champagne house located in Chavot-Courcourt, south of Epernay. Thierry and Christian Laherte were joined by Thierry's son Aurélien in 2002, who now heads the domaine. Aurélien is part of a new generation of Champagne makers who adopt a natural approach to viticulture and produce terroir-driven champagnes. He founded the Terres et Vins group of Champagne producers in 2009. Laherte & Frères owns 10 hectares of vines, split into 75 parcels in ten villages, with 27 terroirs identified in Chavot.
A meticulous expression of Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, drawn from mid-slope vineyards around Chavot-Courcourt averaging 35 years old. The blend incorporates reserve wines to enhance depth and complexity, while primary fermentation occurs in a combination of foudres and barrels with no malolactic conversion, preserving freshness and varietal purity. Aromas of red berries, subtle brioche, and chalky minerality reflect the clay-chalk soils, while the palate reveals tension, saline lift, and a supple, protein-like texture. Minimal dosage highlights structure and precision, delivering a serious, terroir-driven Blanc de Noirs for connoisseurs.
