Domaine Sylvain Cathiard is a Vosne Romanée based estate recognised as one of the reference producers of the Côte de Nuits, now run by Sébastien Cathiard, who continues to refine the domaine’s highly precise and detail driven style. The estate is built on meticulous vineyard work, very low yields and careful parcel selection across Vosne Romanée, Nuits Saint Georges and surrounding appellations. The philosophy in both vineyard and cellar prioritises purity of fruit, structural finesse and long term ageing potential, with controlled extraction and élevage in French oak used to integrate structure without dominating the wine.

Chambolle Musigny Clos de l’Orme comes from a village level lieu dit in Chambolle Musigny, where limestone rich soils with a higher proportion of fine clay contribute to the appellation’s hallmark silkiness and aromatic lift. The site typically produces Pinot Noir with a more delicate, perfumed profile compared to neighbouring villages, while still retaining underlying structure and precision. The 2009 vintage in Burgundy was warm and generous, producing wines with ripe fruit expression, softer tannins and early accessibility while still retaining balance in well handled sites. The wine shows red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, with rose petal, subtle spice and a fine mineral undertone. The palate is supple and layered, with softened but present tannins, balanced acidity and a long, harmonious finish that reflects both the elegance of Chambolle and the ripeness of the vintage.
