A vibrant, fruit-driven Syrah from Vindiou, the small Rhône project of Cyprien de Lageneste and Thomas Junique. Brèves de Comptoir brings together grapes from two parcels in the Ardèche and Gard, including a former Saint-Joseph vineyard, on sandy and granitic soils. Organically farmed, the grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and ten days of whole-bunch maceration, followed by ten months ageing in used oak barrels and stainless steel.
Dark cherry, blackberry and violet meet black pepper and subtle savoury spice. The palate is juicy and supple, with fine tannins, fresh acidity and a gentle mineral character. A light to medium-bodied Syrah combining ripe fruit with freshness and an easy-drinking character.
