Domaine Berthaut‑Gerbet is a family‑run estate based in Fixin in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits. Under Amélie Berthaut’s stewardship, the property combines holdings inherited from both her mother’s Gerbet family and her father’s Berthaut lineage, spanning vineyards in villages such as Fixin, Vosne‑Romanée and beyond. The estate works sustainably in the vineyards with careful canopy management and hand harvesting, vinifying with minimal intervention to showcase the precise expression of Pinot Noir from modest Burgundy parcels. The high‑altitude vineyards of the Hautes‑Côtes de Nuits yield wines with freshness, bright red fruit, and vibrant aromatics.
The 2023 Bourgogne Hautes‑Côtes de Nuits is a regional‑level Pinot Noir showing red cherry, cranberry and floral notes, with supple texture and lively acidity. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts and maturation takes place in a combination of vats and previously used oak barrels. Medium‑bodied with gentle tannins, it is approachable young while maintaining balance and definition that reflect its Côte de Nuits origins.
