Domaine Thomas Morey is a family run estate located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis in Burgundy, France. The Morey family has been cultivating vineyards in the Côte de Nuits for generations, focusing on low intervention viticulture, sustainable practices and meticulous attention to detail in both vineyard and cellar. Thomas Morey continues this legacy, producing wines that reflect the precision, balance and terroir expression characteristic of Burgundy while favouring natural fermentations and gentle handling to preserve freshness and aromatic clarity.
The 2023 Bourgogne Chardonnay is made from hand harvested grapes grown on clay and limestone soils in the lower slopes surrounding Morey-Saint-Denis. The 2023 vintage featured a cool spring followed by a warm, steady summer, allowing gradual ripening that preserved natural acidity and developed ripe, expressive fruit. The wine underwent fermentation in stainless steel with partial maturation in neutral oak to enhance texture without overshadowing the varietal character. It shows aromas of white flowers, citrus peel and stone fruits, with a bright, precise palate, fine acidity and a clean, lingering finish. The wine exemplifies the elegance and clarity typical of Thomas Morey’s approach to Bourgogne Chardonnay.
