Domaine Duroché is a family estate based in Gevrey Chambertin, now led by Pierre Duroché, who has steadily established the domaine as one of the most precise and articulate voices in the northern Côte de Nuits. Since taking over from his father Gilles, Pierre has refined both vineyard and cellar work with a clear emphasis on purity, balance and site transparency. Although best known for Pinot Noir, the domaine also produces a small amount of Chardonnay, handled with the same attention to detail and restraint. Viticulture is focused on careful vineyard management, low yields and precise harvest timing, while in the cellar the approach is defined by control and integration, with élevage designed to support rather than shape the wine.

This Bourgogne Chardonnay Côte d’Or is sourced from selected parcels within the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, where limestone dominant soils provide the backbone for freshness and mineral tension. The wine reflects a more linear and restrained interpretation of Chardonnay, avoiding overt richness in favour of clarity and structure. Vinification is carried out with gentle pressing followed by fermentation in barrel, with élevage in French oak using a limited proportion of new wood to preserve balance and site expression. The result is a Chardonnay showing lemon zest, green apple and pear, with white floral notes and a subtle stony edge. The palate is focused and precise, with bright acidity and a clean, mineral finish that emphasises finesse over weight.
