Domaine Alex Moreau was established after the historic Domaine Bernard Moreau was divided between Alex and his brother in 2021. Alex, now working closely with his wife Martine, continues the family tradition in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune with a focus on terroir expression and careful vineyard work. The estate farms sustainably, picking all fruit by hand and favouring indigenous yeasts and thoughtful barrel use, even at regional Bourgogne level, to bring clarity and precision to its Chardonnays.
The 2023 Bourgogne Blanc is a 100 % Chardonnay from vineyards around Chassagne‑Montrachet soil profiles with clay influence. Alcohol is 12.5 %, and the wine typically sees lees contact and a period in previously used French oak barrels, giving a balance of ripe white orchard fruit and brisk acidity with spicy and citrus nuances on the palate. Critics note its concentration, freshness and persistence for its regional class, marking it as a vibrant example of Bourgogne Blanc from a serious producer.
