Maison Deux Montille is the négociant and white wine focused project of Étienne de Montille and Alix de Montille, based in Volnay and operating alongside Domaine de Montille. It was established to extend the family’s reach into selected vineyard sources across the Côte de Beaune and broader Burgundy, while maintaining a consistent philosophy of organic farming, low intervention winemaking and precise, site led expression. The focus is on Chardonnay from trusted growers and carefully chosen parcels, with vinification designed to emphasise tension, clarity and mineral definition rather than overt richness or heavy oak influence.

Clos du Château is a Bourgogne Blanc sourced from a single enclosed or closely defined vineyard holding, giving it a more focused and coherent expression than a standard regional blend. The site sits on limestone and clay influenced soils, producing Chardonnay that combines ripe fruit character with a fine, linear mineral core. The intention in this cuvée is to preserve purity and detail, allowing the vineyard character to remain at the centre of the wine. Vinification is carried out with native yeasts and gentle pressing, followed by élevage in French oak barrels with a restrained use of new wood to maintain precision. The wine shows lemon zest, green apple and ripe pear, with white flowers, subtle almond and a chalky, saline undertone. The palate is supple yet structured, with a clean, mineral driven finish that reflects both site clarity and the domaine’s restrained approach.
