Mark Haisma is an Australian winemaker from Western Australia who trained in Margaret River before relocating to Burgundy, where he spent several years working alongside Jasper Morris MW and building deep relationships with growers across the Côte d’Or. He founded his Beaune based micro négociant in 2009, sourcing fruit exclusively from long term partner growers who farm thoughtfully, often organically, and share his emphasis on low yields and site expression. Haisma’s approach is deliberately Burgundian in outlook, prioritising restraint, balance and transparency over power, with a business model that allows him to work parcel by parcel, bottling small quantities that reflect individual vineyards rather than a house style.
This Bourgogne Aligoté is drawn from limestone dominant sites selected for natural freshness and tension. The 2022 vintage combined healthy yields with balanced ripeness, allowing Aligoté to show precision and texture. The wine is bright and saline, with citrus energy, fine minerality and a quietly persistent finish that reflects Haisma’s restrained, site led style.
