Bianchduset, Vittorio Bera & Figli 2007
Vittorio Bera & Figli
The Family Vittorio Bera was the first estate to bottle and market its own wine in the Canelli region. The estate lies in Sant’Antonio di Canelli within the region of Serra Masio, the most prestigious and ancient of the area’s Moscato production.
This wine had started its journey intending to be a Moscato d’Asti. The wine was forgotten about and only discovered when it was 7% vol. As Moscato d’Asti can only be 5% vol, they were unsure what to do about it. They eventually decided to leave it, and in that time the wine developed a veil and continued to ferment ‘sous voile’ for 15 years.
Golden yellow in colour with orange hints. The nose is characterized by oxidative notes (Jura style) with slightly fruity hints. The palate is rich with texture, and very mineral. Persistent finish.
