Domaine Rousset-Peyraguey sits on the limestone plateau of Haut-Barsac in Bommes, at the heart of Sauternes. The estate covers around six hectares planted primarily to Sémillon with smaller parcels of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Under the stewardship of Luc Laplante, viticulture is entirely biodynamic and certified organic. Grapes are picked by hand in successive tries to capture the finest botrytised fruit, and cellar work is slow and unforced. Fermentations are spontaneous, sulphur use is minimal, and wines spend several years maturing in seasoned oak before release, achieving remarkable purity and tension within the natural sweetness of Sauternes.

De Labore Solis 2012 is produced from roughly fifty-year-old vines, harvested late with concentrated botrytis. Fermentation occurs naturally, followed by four to six years’ élevage in old oak and acacia barrels. The resulting wine combines luscious texture and vibrant acidity, balancing orange zest, honey, and saffron complexity with a crystalline finish.
