Manuel Vermouth is an artisanal vermouth crafted in collaboration with the oldest Basque distillery located in Amurrio village, Spain. The project is spearheaded by Clément Cantenys, founder of The Grape People, an export office established in 2020 with a mission to connect terroir-driven producers with international markets. Clément's diverse experience spans the wine industries of France, South Africa, and London, providing a solid foundation for this venture. The distillery in Amurrio, with its rich history, brings centuries of expertise to the production of this unique vermouth.
The production of Manuel Vermouth involves a meticulous process where over 30 botanicals are blended to achieve a harmonious balance between sweetness and bitterness. The base wine is sourced from local vineyards, ensuring a strong regional identity. The botanicals are carefully selected and macerated to extract their flavors, which are then infused into the base wine. The result is a vermouth that offers a complex and aromatic profile, suitable for sipping neat or enhancing classic cocktails.
