Chiara carries forward her family’s rich winemaking tradition in Predappio, a charming town in southern Emilia Romagna. While her parents produce wine under their own label, Condé, Chiara has carved her own path, guided by her unique ideas and winemaking philosophy. She cultivates nearly 5 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, a variety deeply rooted in Emilia Romagna’s history. Though often overshadowed by its fame in Tuscany, many experts believe Sangiovese originated here, and Chiara’s work highlights its affinity for the region’s calcareous spungone soils at the foothills of the Apennines.
Farming organically from the start, Chiara prioritizes manual work and draws inspiration from the late Tuscan legend Giulio Gambelli. Her cellar practices include open-top fermentations, extended maceration, whole-cluster inclusion when possible, and aging in large neutral vessels. The result? Complex, layered wines with vibrant aromatics that truly express their terroir.
Rich and complex, but not overpowering. Beautiful balance between acidity and silky tannins on the palate. The nose is fruit-forward with hints of sweet vanilla.
