Domaine Gramenon is a respected estate in the Southern Rhône Valley based in Montbrison‑sur‑Lez, established in 1978 by Philippe Laurent and Michèle Aubéry‑Laurent and now continued by Michèle with her son Maxime François. The vineyards are planted on limestone, clay and sandy safre soils, often at altitude, which help bring freshness and detail to the wines. Gramenon farms organically and biodynamically and uses minimal intervention vinification to let the purity of fruit and terroir come forward in every bottle.
The 2024 Côtes‑du‑Rhône Sierra du Sud is a red wine made primarily from old‑vine Grenache, often with small amounts of Cinsault and other regional varieties depending on parcel selection. The grapes are hand harvested and partially destemmed, then fermented with natural yeasts and see a period of maceration before ageing in a combination of vats and older barrels or demi‑muids. The wine is generous and expressive with vibrant red and dark fruit, spice and herbal notes, supple texture and a long, balanced finish that reflects both the warmth of the Southern Rhône and the structure from old vines.
