Domaine Gramenon is a well‑regarded estate in the Southern Rhône Valley based in Montbrison‑sur‑Lez, founded in 1978 by Philippe Laurent and Michèle Aubéry‑Laurent and now continued by Michèle alongside her son Maxime François. The domaine’s vineyards sit on hillsides and plateau at around 350 metres altitude, with limestone, clay and sandy safre soils that contribute to freshness and clarity in the wines. Gramenon farms organically and biodynamically, working with minimal intervention in the cellar to let fruit and terroir express themselves naturally.
The 2024 Côtes‑du‑Rhône Poignée de Raisins is sourced from young Grenache vines aged from roughly 4 to 30 years, and in some interpretations includes a small portion of Cinsault as part of the blend. The grapes are hand harvested, partially destemmed, and undergo a 15‑day maceration in raw concrete vats with fermentation by native yeasts. After malolactic fermentation if necessary, the wine is aged for about six months in vats before bottling. Poignée de Raisins is typically fresh and fruity with vibrant red fruit character and supple texture, a wine to enjoy in its youth.
