A Pie de Tierra is an exciting young project founded by Aitor Paul and David Villamiel, who met while studying viticulture and oenology in Madrid in 2013. Inspired by the rugged landscapes of the Sierra de Gredos, the pair set out to revive abandoned old-vine Garnacha vineyards high in the mountains of central Spain. Working with bush vines, many over 90 years old, planted on granitic and sandy soils, they craft wines that combine delicacy, mineral tension and Mediterranean warmth. Farming is carried out with deep respect for the land and its natural rhythms, while in the cellar the approach remains minimal: native yeasts, gentle extraction and low intervention throughout.

Still in the early stages of their journey, A Pie de Tierra has already gained attention for its pure, expressive wines and thoughtful interpretation of Gredos terroir — a project shaped by passion, precision and a clear sense of place.

Fuerza Bruta comes from old Garnacha bush vines planted in the 1940s in Dehesa de Navayuncosa, Aldea del Fresno, on deep granite soils in the Valle del Alberche. Saved from being uprooted by David Villamiel, the organically farmed vineyard yields a remarkably elegant and ethereal expression of Gredos Garnacha. Whole-bunch fermented and aged in large old foudres, the wine shows wild strawberry, rhubarb, violets and Mediterranean herbs, carried by a finely textured, intensely mineral palate. Delicate yet persistent, it combines purity, freshness and a haunting sense of place.
