Patrice Beguet is based in Mesnay in the Jura, where he farms his own vineyards biodynamically while also working as a small scale négociant for select cuvées. After a previous career outside wine, he returned to the region with a deliberately experimental mindset, focusing on energy, texture and transparency rather than appellation convention. His wines are released under the Hughes Beguet name and are known for pushing beyond regional boundaries while remaining rooted in natural viticulture and minimal intervention practice.
Three Views of a Secret Blanc 2021 is a skin contact white made from a blend of Gewurztraminer, Muscat and Pinot Gris, sourced from organically farmed vineyards outside the Jura. The wine is conceived as an exploration of aromatic varieties through maceration rather than varietal typicity. The 2021 vintage was cool and challenging, resulting in a wine with deep colour, layered aromatics and structured phenolics, balancing exotic fruit and spice with grip and freshness.
