Domaine Jean François Ganevat is one of the Jura’s most revered and influential estates, renowned for preserving traditional varieties while pushing the boundaries of low intervention winemaking. Based in Rotalier, in the southern Jura, Jean François and Anne Ganevat farm a remarkable collection of old vineyards according to biodynamic principles, with a deep respect for biodiversity, soil health and ancient vine material. Often referred to as “Fanfan” by those close to him, Jean François produces wines of extraordinary precision and individuality, combining the delicacy of Jura’s traditional grapes with an almost Burgundian level of depth and complexity.

Package Savagnin Le Clos is a pure expression of Savagnin, sourced from the domaine’s historic Le Clos parcel in Rotalier. Unlike the oxidative style traditionally associated with Jura Savagnin, this cuvée is made ouillé, meaning the barrels are regularly topped up to prevent oxidation and preserve the freshness and purity of the fruit. Grown on the region’s characteristic marl soils, the wine undergoes a long, natural fermentation before ageing in old oak barrels, allowing texture and complexity to develop while maintaining its mineral core. Aromas of lemon zest, green apple and white flowers are layered with hazelnut, chamomile, herbs and the distinctive saline character of Jura’s limestone and marl soils. The palate is concentrated yet incredibly precise, combining Savagnin’s natural intensity with bright acidity, fine texture and a long, savoury finish.
