Domaine Gramenon is a highly regarded estate in the Southern Rhône Valley, founded in 1978 by Philippe Laurent and now led by Michèle Aubèry‑Laurent with her son Maxime François. The domaine farms organically and biodynamically on vines that range from young plantings to old vines aged 50‑70 years, with a focus on minimal‑intervention vinification and traditional methods that highlight the purity of Grenache and Rhône terroir.
The 2023 Côtes‑du‑Rhône La Sagesse is a red wine made predominantly from old‑vine Grenache from three parcels in Gramenon, with vineyard soils of limestone, clay and sandy safre. The grapes are hand harvested, partially destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts and long maceration before ageing roughly 12 months in barrels and demi‑muids. The wine offers ripe red and dark fruit aromas with spice and herbal nuances, a supple texture and bright acidity that give it both generosity and structure.
