Domaine Tessier is the Meursault domaine of Arnaud Tessier, who took over the family vineyards in 2006 and began bottling under his own name the following year. Working alongside his wife Catherine, he farms around 7.5 hectares organically, with a strong emphasis on careful vineyard work and expressing individual sites. The domaine is known for taut, high energy whites, with spontaneous fermentations, restrained use of new oak and a deliberately low intervention approach in the cellar.
Champ Perrier comes from a tiny 0.3 hectare parcel in Puligny Montrachet, sitting directly on the Meursault border below Corvée des Vignes. The 45 plus year old vines are planted on clay limestone soils with a strong limestone dominance, giving the wine a distinctly Puligny like mineral character despite its Bourgogne appellation. It is bright and focused, combining lemon, green apple and white peach with a fine, chalky texture and savoury finish. There is plenty of concentration here, but the wine's real strength is its tension and precision.
