The Vincey family has been winemakers for eight generations, but it wasn't until Quentin joined in 2009 that production evolved into its current form. They manage 7 hectares in Oger, Mesnil, and Chouilly, and since Quentin's arrival, have eliminated the use of pesticides and herbicides. They have been adhering to biodynamic principles for over three years. An exceptional winemaker, Quentin creates wines with a wonderful fullness of fruit and layered complexity. Truly worth exploring, as their wines are poised to become legendary.
Auge 2021 is sourced from a single parcel in Le Mesnil sur Oger, a village renowned for producing some of Champagne’s most classic Chardonnay. The vineyard sits on very deep, compact chalk with minimal topsoil, and its cool, slow ripening conditions preserve high natural acidity and linear tension. This parcel delivers wines of precision, structure and longevity rather than early generosity. In the cool 2021 vintage, the wine shows tight citrus, green apple, white flowers and crushed chalk, with fine mousse and a long, incisive, saline finish that reflects both the terroir and the village’s historic status as a benchmark for chalk driven Champagne.
