Christian Allante and Matthieu Boulanger are two Jura natives who spent more than 15 years working alongside the Labet family before establishing their own domaine. Having gradually assembled small parcels of old vines across the southern Jura, they now farm around 3.2 hectares between Rotalier and Gizia. Their approach combines biodynamic viticulture with an uncompromising commitment to natural winemaking, favouring spontaneous fermentations, old oak and minimal cellar intervention. With a particular interest in historic vineyard sites and forgotten grape varieties, they have quickly established themselves as one of the more exciting small producers in the Jura. Their wines are made in tiny quantities, reflecting both the individuality of their vineyard parcels and a determination to let the landscape do the talking.

Vigne au Daim comes from a steep, south facing vineyard above Gizia, planted with approximately 45 year old Chardonnay vines. The name refers to the fallow deer that regularly visit this particularly biodiverse parcel. Sitting on grey marl and schist, the vineyard produces Chardonnay with a distinctive combination of richness, tension and mineral character. The grapes are slowly and directly pressed before spontaneous fermentation and 24 months of ageing in old oak barrels. The result is a concentrated yet finely balanced wine, combining ripe orchard fruit, citrus peel and subtle nutty notes with a savoury, saline finish. There is plenty of Jura character here, with texture and depth balanced by freshness rather than overt oxidative weight.
