Antoine and Julie Debiastre founded Domaine des 4 Vents in 2020 after meeting at winemaking school and working across France and abroad. They established the estate in Puisseguin Saint-Émilion through “Terre de Liens”, an association helping new-generation farmers access organically managed vineyards. The domaine spans both clay-limestone plateaus and cooler blue clay dales, giving balance between structure and freshness. From the outset, they converted the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming, incorporating sheep grazing, hedgerows, and fruit tree planting to encourage biodiversity. All wines are produced naturally, without additives or technological manipulation, using spontaneous fermentations and minimal sulphur.

Hegoa 2022 is 100% Merlot from vines planted between 1960 and 1990, grown on clay limestone and blue clay soils. Harvesting is manual or mechanical depending on parcel, with destemming and a short five-day maceration. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for six months in sandstone amphora, unfined, unfiltered, and bottled with only a trace of sulphur. Hegoa shows bright ruby colour with pure red and black fruit aromas, supple texture, and vibrant freshness from the clay soils. Named after the Basque “Hégoa” wind, it captures a sense of natural lift and clarity.
