Château Moutte Blanc 2020 Haut-Médoc
Château Moutte Blanc is a family-owned estate located in the Margaux commune of Macau, Bordeaux. The property spans 3 hectares and was established in 1939. Under the stewardship of winemaker Patrice de Bortoli, renowned for his expertise with Petit Verdot, the estate has gained recognition for producing wines that highlight the unique characteristics of this varietal. The vineyard's soils are a mix of gravel and clay, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the complexity of the wines.
The 2020 Haut-Médoc is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the integrity of the fruit. The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, adding complexity and depth. Aromas of blackcurrant and plum are complemented by subtle notes of tobacco and cedar. The palate is full-bodied with well-integrated tannins and a persistent, elegant finish that reflects the gravelly soils of the Haut-Médoc.
