Vino Bianco Ribolla Gialla, Dario Princic 2018
Dario Princic
From one of the pioneers of long macerations white wines in Oslavia, Friuli, alongside with Radikon and Gravner, Dario Princic wines are a pure expression of this new wave of orange wines, full bodied, incredibly complex and energetic.
Azienda Agricola Dario Princic is located in Oslavia in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, very close to the Slovenian border. Princic’s wines have the same feel as those of La Stoppa and Valentini: totally unfiltered and minimally sulphured, they taste of the earth, of rock salts and bitter stony fruits, in other words edgily natural. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or Sauvignon), but thank goodness in an era of branding and conformity that we have the opportunity to dance on the wilder shores of winemaking.
Golden yellow in colour the nose has aromas of dried fruit, herbs and oriental spices. In the mouth it is warm, fine and elegant with a beautiful freshness and delicate tannins.
